How we use the personal data we collect

Contact forms
Website users who wish to request further information can contact JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation using our contact form. In doing so, the contact information of users who are interested in booking a concert or concerts, who wish to purchase tickets for a concert or concerts, or who wish to rent the Joseph Rouleau Hall will be stored in our database for administrative purposes such as billing and customer service.
Contact made through Contact Forms that do not lead to a sale will be deleted after one year.

Newsletter
Subscribers to the JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation Newsletter may unsubscribe at any time.

Cookies
A cookie is a small file stored by a server on the terminal (computer, telephone, etc.) of a user and associated with a web domain (i.e., in most cases, with all the pages of a single website). This file is automatically returned on subsequent visits to the same domain.
If you leave a comment on our website, you will be prompted to save your name, email address, and website in cookies. This is for your convenience only to avoid re-entering this information if you leave another comment later. These cookies expire after one year.

Personal information is used for the purposes identified at the time of collection (interest in a workshop or concert, purchasing tickets, making a donation, etc.). Individuals may request access to their personal information by sending a written request (email) to our Privacy Officer.


How long your data is stored

For users who have registered on our website (via a form), we also store the personal data indicated in their profile. All users can view, modify, or delete their personal information at any time (except for their username). Website managers can also view and modify this information.


Your rights concerning your data

By filling out a form on the website, you can request a file containing all the personal data we have on you, including any data you have provided to us. You may also request deletion of your personal data. This does not take into account data stored for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
Each employee is instructed to know how to detect a breach of confidentiality, identify a location where the information should be, avoid making copies and sending the information via email, be aware of where confidential information should not be located, report confidential information that the employee should not have access to (and to which he or she has access), and report these breaches of confidentiality.

Personal information is stored in the JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation database. Access to the database is password protected for each user.
Data that needs to be shared is sent by encrypted email and only when necessary.

Procedures in the event of a data leakage
A breach of confidentiality/security log is kept by all JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation employees. Whether the breach involves access to, use of, or disclosure of personal information prohibited by law, loss of personal information, or any other violation, the date and location of the breach, and the data compromised are added to the log and the breach is reported to Quebec’s Commission d’accès à l’information (https://www.cai.gouv.qc.ca/).

Automated marketing and profiling operations using personal data
The collection of personal or other data may be used for a number of purposes, including marketing and advertising. In particular, we may use certain files, also called pixels or tags, to allow JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation or third-party partners to collect information about you in order to offer you advertisements, not only on the JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation website or applications, but also on third-party websites and applications. These files make it possible, for example, to offer you personalized ads based on the JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation website pages you have visited. You may also receive ads from JM Canada and the JM Canada Foundation or our partners when you use third-party websites.
