Montréal, October 13, 2026 — The Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation launches its annual fundraising campaign today under the theme “Every Artist Has a Beginning. Help Write What Comes Next.” By highlighting the journeys of former Jeunesses Musicales Canada artists, the Foundation invites the public to support emerging musicians and introduce children to classical music.
Three artists are featured at the campaign’s launch: violinist Andrew Wan, pianist Meagan Milatz, and James Ehnes violinist and violist. The campaign visuals pair photographs of these artists today with images from their youth, offering a glimpse of their beginnings and how far they have come.
All three were Jeunesses Musicales Canada artists early in their careers, benefiting from opportunities to perform, connect with audiences, and develop their talent. Their stories highlight the importance of these experiences for young musicians taking their first professional steps.
Throughout the year, other former JMC artists will also be featured on social media, highlighting their journeys and inspiring the public to support the next generation.
Opportunities that can shape a future
Thanks to the generosity of donors, Jeunesses Musicales Canada introduces thousands of children to classical music and supports young artists at pivotal moments in their careers.
“When we look at photographs of these artists in their early years, we think of the young musicians who are now seeking their place on stage. Our donors help give them opportunities to move forward, while also giving children their first encounters with music. Together, we can help write what comes next,” says Véronique Desjardins, Executive Director of the Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation.
