Congratulations to the Recipients of the 2026 Laetitia-Cyr Scholarships

New Brunswick, May 19, 2026 – Jeunesses Musicales Nouveau-Brunswick (JMNB), through the Laetitia-Cyr Fund, is proud to award seven scholarships totaling $10,000 to seven musicians from New Brunswick.

Under the chairmanship of Mr. Luc Gagnon, President of JMNB, Mr. Michel J.C. Cyr (committee member, lawyer and lecturer at the Faculty of Law at the Université de Moncton), Mr. Martin Waltz (President of the JMC Centre of Dieppe), Ms. Daniella Tejadas Cortes (Oboe Professor at Sistema and Music Master at the Université de Moncton), and Ms. Danièle LeBlanc (Executive and Artistic Director of JMC), the committee reviewed the applications received and selected seven young artists to support in their advanced musical training projects.

The 2026 recipients are:

  • Adèle LeBlanc — $1,500
  • Cédric Thériault — $1,500
  • Isai Parra-Perez — $1,500
  • Jacinthe Bernier — $1,500
  • Xavier Bélanger — $1,500
  • Jude Taylor Bourque — $1,000
  • Shelby Scott — $1,500

The Laetitia-Cyr Fund
Created in 2000 to honour a remarkable figure in Atlantic Canada’s cultural scene, the Laetitia-Cyr Fund’s primary mission is to support emerging young classical music artists in New Brunswick.

Jeunesses Musicales Nouveau-Brunswick
Founded in 1997, Jeunesses Musicales Nouveau-Brunswick (JMNB) aims to promote the mission of Jeunesses Musicales Canada throughout New Brunswick by encouraging appreciation for classical music, particularly among young people, and by supporting young professionals in the development of their careers.
