The Recipients’ Circle: A new initiative from Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation for scholarship recipients

Posted by Annabelle Garon | June 6, 2024

Cercle des récipiendairesMontreal, June 6, 2024 – At its bursary award ceremony held on June 5 at the Maison André-Bourbeau, the Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation announced the creation of the Recipients’ Circle, from which all JM Canada Foundation bursary recipients will benefit. After 40 years of support for artists and Jeunesses Musicales Canada, this initiative marks an important turning point in the involvement with emerging artists, as the Cercle will provide more targeted, ongoing support.

Among other things, the Circle will offer increased visibility through events organized with partners in the milieu, networking meetings, and a newsletter targeted to the needs of artists, all with a view to supporting alumni in their musical careers. Activities related to the Recipients’ Circle will be rolled out over the coming months, complementing what is already in place, to create outreach opportunities for artists in the classical music world.

“The annual awards ceremony is a particularly moving moment for us at the JM Canada Foundation. As Executive Director, it’s an immense source of pride to see the talent, passion and dedication of young musicians rewarded and supported in their careers. The creation of the Recipients’ Circle will enable us to continue our efforts to support our scholarship recipients in the development of their careers.” – Véronique Desjardins, JM Canada Foundation.
