2027–2028 JMC CONCERTS TOUR

CALL FOR AUDITION

We are now accepting applications from classical, jazz or world music artists and ensembles to audition for our 2027–2028 JMC Concerts tour.

Emerging artists and professional musicians (between the ages of 18 and 32) are encouraged to submit a concert project through video recordings, in which they tell us about their passion for music and entertaining audiences.
The choice of repertoire (approximately 80 minutes of music) should reflect the musicians’ musical qualities and have a specific thematic idea of particular interest to them. A Canadian work is required in the concert repertoire. JMC is looking for interesting, innovative and inclusive programs. We encourage thoughtful proposals that connect with a diversity of Canadian audiences. The inclusion of underrepresented and/or marginalized composers is encouraged.

We are seeking three concert projects for the 2027–2028 season, including musical proposals to mark the 350th anniversary of Vivaldi’s birth and the 20th anniversary of Oscar Peterson’s death.

In addition, we would like to remind you that the pan-Canadian tour, Road Trip!, is back, in collaboration with Prairie Debut and Debut Atlantic. All professional musicians interested in this tour can express their interest by checking the ‘Pan-Canadian Tour’’ box on the online registration form.

The tours for our JMC Concerts are distributed as follows:

  1. mid-November 2027 to end of December 2027
  2. mid-January to early March 2028
  3. beginning of March to end of April 2028

The tour will take place in Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime provinces and requires that you be available for a period of 4–6 consecutive weeks, giving you the opportunity to experience different venues across the east coast of Canada. All the logistics of the tour are taken care of by Jeunesses Musicales Canada.
