Press release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Montreal – Thursday, January 8, 2026 – Jeunesses Musicales Canada is pleased to announce the national tour of Notes from the Front: Fraternal Music for Voice and Piano, with soprano Mathilde Duval-Laplante and pianists Rosemarie Duval-Laplante and Jean-Michel Dubé. The tour, organized as part of the JMC Concerts programme, offers audiences a unique opportunity to discover these exceptional artists in an intimate setting.
The tour kicks off in Quebec’s capital city on January 11, and will include 15 stops across Quebec, Ontario and the Maritime provinces, concluding in Pointe-Claire (QC) on March 22, 2026. From the fragmentation of musical forms to the creation of fantastic atmospheres that satisfy a desire for escapism, the trio reflects on the realities of the front lines. Through music and readings of wartime correspondence, this concert is an ode to peace, particularly at a time when conflict is constantly in the news.
Danièle LeBlanc, Jeunesses Musicales Canada’s Executive and Artistic Director, shares: “In a world that doesn’t always make sense, this concert offers a moment of respite and reflection on peace, conflict, and their impact on the human spirit. Through carefully chosen works and texts, audiences are invited to appreciate the talent and unique rapport of its three performers.“
Tickets for the Notes from the Front: Fraternal Music for Voice and Piano tour are available for purchase now on the JMC website and at local outlets.
