Close to 425,000 Raised to Promote Access to Classical Music

Montreal, May 13, 2025 – The Jeunesses Musicales Canada Foundation is proud to announce the resounding success of its annual Benefit Gala, held on May 12 at the Casino de Montréal. Thanks to the generosity of donors and partners, close to $425,000 was raised to enable 2,000 children from underprivileged backgrounds to discover classical music each year through the Jeunesses Musicales Canada network of centers.

The evening, which brought together nearly 350 guests, was a remarkable moment filled with emotion, gratitude, and commitment. It served as a powerful bridge between our past, present, and future, as we paid tribute to the memory of Mr. André Bourbeau, a visionary philanthropist and passionate advocate of JMC and its mission.

Under the banner of music and sharing, the audience was captivated by the masterful performances of contralto Marie-Nicole Lemieux and pianist François Zeitouni, as well as cellist Dominique Beauséjour-Ostiguy and guitarist Chris Habib, who delivered moments of profound artistic intensity.

Several notable figures were in attendance, including Pascal Bourbeau, Lucien Bouchard, and Jacques Marchand, surrounded by an exceptional honorary committee that greatly contributed to the event’s success.

The Foundation also wishes to extend its heartfelt thanks to the Gala’s Platinum Sponsors: Alfid, BUSAC Immobilier, Collège LaSalle Montréal, Québecor, and our Silver Sponsor, the Société de développement Angus, along with many other valued partners who share our vision of equitable access to culture for all generations.
