Madeleine Owen – A Theorbist who Collects Curiosities
Invite one of our artists to discuss his or her career and life as a musician. An intimate and exciting way to get a glimpse behind the scenes.
Let musician and teacher Madeleine Owen tell you how her great curiosity and collector’s spirit led her to discover the true love of her life: the theorbo. Learn from her about this fascinating plucked string instrument dating from the 16th century.
Madeleine Owen is recognised for her instinctive musicality on the theorbo, the lute and the Baroque guitar. She performs regularly as a soloist, chamber musician and continuo player. She is also professor of lute and early music lab at the Cégep Marie-Victorin. She performs in a solo concert for young audiences, Lute, Friend of Kings, which is her own original idea.
