The Titled Quartets

Rolston String Quartet
Luri Lee, violin
Jason Issokson, violin
Hezekiah Leung, viola
Peter Eom, cello

The history of music has seen the creation of thousands of string quartet works composed. This musical format, accredited to the Austrian composer Joseph Haydn, has now been a standard for string musicians worldwide. Yet only a handful of compositions are known universally by a name. Hear the Rolston String Quartet perform and introduce a program of quartet pieces, all more commonly known by their titles. Concert will include Haydn’s Apponyi, Beethoven’s Razumovsky, and some newer works where titles inspire the composition.
