Desjardins Concerts 2011-2012 Season

It gives us great pleasure to present Jeunesses Musicales of Canada’s programming for 2011-2012. In this new season, we are offering five concerts and an opera that will introduce you to tomorrow’s finest artists. For JMC’s mandate is not only to offer musical excellence through a program that is as rich as it is varied, but also—and above all—to make you aware of exceptionally talented young artists who can present their instrument (and their art!) with enthusiasm and passion. Our objective has remained the same for over 60 years: making high-calibre classical music accessible to as many people as possible.

This year, we are very happy to introduce you to talented pianist Justine Pelletier (Quebec), amazing accordionist Jelena Milojevic (British Columbia), and the incredible TORQ percussion quartet (Ontario). We are delighted to bring back an up-and-coming ensemble of women, the Cecilia String Quartet (Ontario), and an incredible violin, cello, and piano trio made up of Caroline Chéhadé, Michael Nicolas, and Marie-Hélène Trempe (Québec), brought together especially for this tour with a “Piazzolla” program.

Finally, our opera production features Georges Bizet’s Carmen. This renowned opera will bring together some of the finest emerging artists on the opera scene. Don’t miss this chance to see an opera with costumes, sets, and lighting in a venue near you!

Whether you live in Quebec, Ontario, the Maritimes, or British Columbia, a concert awaits you!

Our new crop of artists needs you!
