Charles-Étienne Marchand has appeared in a variety of musical and theatrical contexts across Canada, the United States, and Europe. As a chamber musician, he has been heard with the Bozzini Quartet, the Chorum Ensemble, of which he is a founding member, the Ensemble Contemporain de Montréal, and Quartango. This last ensemble notably performed as a soloist with the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal and the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. In 2007-2008, Quartango received the Performer of the Year Opus award, given by the Conseil québécois de la musique and recorded the CD El Fuego released on the Justin Time label. For the theatre stage, Charles-Étienne Marchand performed Denis Gougeon’s original score in Chekhov’s The Black Monk, and performed for Nancy Huston’s Une Adoration. He also occasionally appears with other Quebec ensembles, including Les Violons du Roy and the Orchestre symphonique de Québec.
