Sandra Joseph received a Bachelor in of Music in Performance from the Conservatoire de musique du Québec in Montréal with Professor Jean-Guy Plante, and a Master of Music in Performance from McGill University in the classes of Aiyun Huang, Andrei Malashenko and Fabrice Marandola. Joseph actively performs as a freelance percussionist with a wide variety of musical ensembles including the Orchestre Métropolitain and the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal. In 2005, she was part of Tapajungle, a theatre project for children and family audiences. Recent performances include appearances at the Cool Drummings International Festival, the Toronto Summer Music Festival ,the Musimars Contemporary Music Festival, and the ‘Roots and Rhizomes’ Percussion’s Residency directed by Steven Schick at the Banff Center for the Arts.
