One of Canada’s most entertaining and versatile chamber music ensembles, I Tromboni is a dynamic quintet better known as the Team Canada of Trombones. Since its formation in 1999, the musicians of this Vancouver-based ensemble have been breaking down the barriers and stereotypes that have kept the trombone in the back row of the band for far too long. No more!!!

I Tromboni incorporates music of many genres into their well-loved performances, with repertoire ranging from baroque to romantic, operatic to jazz, and popular to original compositions. The group plays to rave reviews for audiences from coast to coast and takes centre stage at some of Canada’s most prestigious venues, including the Chan Centre for the Performing Arts in Vancouver, the Winspear Centre for Music in Edmonton, Place des Arts in Montreal, and the National Arts Centre in Ottawa. This team of troubadours has been broadcast nationwide on CBC television, and internationally in partnership with the Banff Centre and the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D.C. Their critically acclaimed CD there goes the neighbourhood is distinctly Canadian, yet enjoys worldwide appeal with thousands of copies sold from Sweden to South Africa, Australia to Puerto Rico.

“I Tromboni is a quintet of outstanding canadian trombonists. These guys play it all, and they play it very well. You need to hear this group.”
- Michael Davidson; CD review in international trombone association journal
