The dynamic and versatile ensemble Flûte Alors! is composed of new generation recorder players who, for several years now, have been winning prizes and nominations at the national and international levels. Created in 1999 in response to an invitation to participate in a cultural exchange with musicians from Berlin, Germany, Flûte Alors! has since followed an exceptional path distinguished by its daring programs and extraordinary performances.
Flûte Alors! released its first album, Kaleidoscope, in May 2011. During the summer of 2009, the ensemble won First Prize in the chamber music category at the National Music Festival in Saskatoon (Saskatchewan). The ensemble also presented a sold-out concert at the Montreal Baroque Festival.
The mission of Flûte Alors! is to increase public awareness of the European tradition of the recorder consort, and to share the richness of its repertoire. Flûte Alors! offers colourful and vibrant programs that encompass Medieval, Renaissance, Baroque, contemporary, and jazz music. Drawing on its musicians’ excellent communicative skills, Flûte Alors! gives its audience a unique experience, bringing a fresh perspective to the promotion of the magnificent, yet misunderstood and all-too-often neglected instrument that is the recorder. Through its performances, Flûte Alors! embarks on an incredible voyage that traverses the ages, revealing a bouquet of flavours, a palette of colours, an extraordinary journey to amaze and delight its audience.
