Mozart and da Ponte’s second collaboration, the timeless Don Giovanni is firmly among opera’s greatest works, thanks to of its perfect mastery and balance of comedy and tragedy. It’s the story of the seductive Don Juan, the rake punished, who will stop at nothing to quench his lascivious thirst without a shred of remorse for his victims, brought to the stage by director Oriol Tomas. Bringing together the best young Canadian singers, JMC celebrates its 25th opera production with the first-time presentation of this classic masterpiece.
